DORIANA BORGO

Bio

No, e come avrei potuto anche immaginarmelo?

DORIANA BORGO

Bio

Eclectic, sparkling, attractive, nice and even “crazy”!

These are just some of the adjectives used to describe this Barber who, due to her way of approaching the art of Barbery, strongly stand in the enormous and “macho” world of Barbers.

We all hear about her more and more often, even if there are still someone who doesn’t know about her (POOR THEM!), and her presence in tha world of Barbershops is making a big difference, because with her work, online and offline, she contributes to give a new direction to a profession that, for too long, has been considered purely male.

Doriana Borgo’s story begins almost as a joke, when “I was only 17, with Nirvana in my ears and heart. when I left my home and headed to a barbershop where a friend of mine adviced me to go. He wasn’t talking seriously, he was just teasing me…but I really went there just to see the owner’s reaction when I said I knew they were looking for help!

We are in Martinafranca, a small village in the Taranto Province (Puglia – Italy) and we were in May 2001 and until the no one ever considered me a barber

Had I ever thought about it? No…really no…how could I even imagine it? In my entire life, the closest thing to a barber thing was looking at my Father shaving on Sunday mornings. It’s useless to tell you about the difficult years to come…really burning years. struggling against prejudices and injustices.

In 2012 after my returns in Italy from abroad where I spent some years of my life, I inaugurate MY BARBESHOP, called The BarBer and from that day on I have been working hard to become the best barber in Italy (I STAY HUMBLE!)”

In her work, which she carries on with passion determination and seriousness, but always with a large smile on her lips, Doriana tried to bring the philosophy of Barberia closer to a modern vision,

that approaches a larger concept of wellness, closer to an holistic idea of it because, as she is used to say, “we are made up of energy that must be treated in a correct way”.

It’s enough thinking about at her answer to this question…”Doriana what does it mean for you to be a Barber?”

She always replies “ The Barber, the way I intend it, is much more than a profession, but it’s a wellness ritual to allow yourself to feel good inside and outside”

Beyond her professionalism, which can only be verified by relying on her skilled hand that, with grace and attention, handle scissors, combs and razors as if they were extensions of her limbs, another element that contributed to his certain fame is certainly her Youtube Channel called “ Beauty Routtini” where, with amazing sarcasm and glee, she gives useful tips about the beard care, hair care and in general personal care.

Present and active on all social media, she always tries to transmit the passion for her work and does everything to keep herself on top by expanding her interests, attending at many events, conferences and training courses so to provide more and more the best quality for her customers.
